Assessment of Health Status
Evaluation of your general health status is a critical step before hair transplantation. Your current health condition and medical history are examined in detail. It is important to inform your doctor about your chronic conditions such as allergies, bleeding disorders, asthma, high blood pressure, respiratory problems, diabetes.
Preoperative Preparations
Some important points to be considered before the operation are as follows:
Do not shave your hair: It is not recommended to shave your hair before hair transplantation. The current state of your hair is necessary for surgical planning and marking. Necessary shaving procedures will be performed in the clinic before the operation.
Light Breakfast: It is recommended to have a light breakfast on the day of the operation. Avoid oily and heavy foods. Please inform our clinic in advance for your lunch preferences (vegetarian, kosher, etc.).
Medication Use: Inform your doctor about the medications you are using. Especially aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs, vitamins B and E, blood thinners, ibuprofen and herbal medicines should be stopped before the operation. If you are taking Finasteride or Propecia, you do not need to stop taking them, but you should stop Minoxidil or Rogaine one week before surgery and start again after two weeks.
Alcohol and Smoking
Alcohol You should stop drinking alcohol 1 week before the operation. Alcohol can alter the effect of anaesthetic drugs and increase bleeding and bruising.
Smoking: Nicotine constricts blood vessels and negatively affects the healing process. Therefore, you should stop smoking at least one week before the operation.
Hair Care Products and Accessories
Hair care oils, gels and similar products should not be used before the operation. Avoid wearing a hat and consult your doctor if you have dandruff. Your doctor can advise you on suitable products.
Prefer Comfortable Clothes
After the operation, it is recommended to wear clothes with zips or buttons to prevent damage to your scalp. Choose clothes that you will be comfortable in and that you can easily put on and take off on the day of the operation.
