Hair Washing After Operation
Hair Washing After Operation
Proper care after hair transplantation is vital for the success of the procedure and rapid recovery. As Physioestethair Clinic, we have prepared a step-by-step guide to help you manage the postoperative hair washing process in the best way.
1. Wait for the First 2 Days After Surgery
Washing your hair immediately after your hair transplantation procedure may damage your newly transplanted hair follicles. Therefore, it is important not to wash your hair for the first 1-2 days (24-36 hours) after the operation. During this time, the hair follicles are given enough time to settle and heal.
2. First wash in our clinic
Your first wash will be performed in our clinic on the 1-2th day after the operation. During this procedure, you will be given detailed information and practical training on how to wash your hair. This is a critical step so that you can do your subsequent washes correctly at home.
3. Daily Washing
It is recommended to wash your hair once a day during the first month after your hair transplant operation. This regular care speeds up your healing process and reduces the risk of infection.
4. FOAM Application
You can apply FOAM to both the donor area and the transplanted area. These products moisturise your skin, promote cell regeneration and help soften the scabs. Gently massage the transplanted area with foam with small touches.
5. Antibiotic Cream Application
Apply antibiotic cream to the donor area for the first 5-7 days after the operation. You should not apply this cream to the transplanted area. During this time, your donor area will be healed.
6. Things to Consider When Washing Hair
Be very careful when washing and touching the transplanted area. After pouring the foam and spreading it over the entire head, use your fingertips to apply small vertical strokes to the transplanted area. Avoid rubbing the area and circular movements.
7. Use of Recommended Shampoos
You can get rid of the crusts and speed up your healing process by using the shampoos given by our clinic. Always consult your doctor before using a different shampoo.
8. Rinsing Your Hair
When rinsing your hair, make sure that the water is neither hot nor cold. It is recommended to rinse your hair using lukewarm and low-pressure water. Avoid using a shower cap for the first 14 days; instead, you can wash your hair with a bowl.
9. Drying
Dry the donor and transplanted areas in different ways. Dry the transplanted area gently with a paper towel, do not rub it. You can dry the donor area with a normal towel. If you use a hair dryer, use it in cold mode or let your hair dry on its own.
